One for You

I took my camera named cutie out to the pumpkin patch. This was one of the shots he got. I'm in the shot holding up a small pumpkin. You can barely see me I guess I should have stayed in the shot the whole time.

Computer update - Finally was able to pick up my computer and well guess what??? I go in they guy says is all fixed they replaced the:
Harddrive = 116.67
Both 1 GB of ram = 220.00
Motherboard = 514.00
Labor = 135.00

For a GRAND total of $985.67

I nearly crapped myself when I realized they replaced the harddrive (mentally I was kicking myself repeadedly while the guy kept talking) because I didn't copy over 1 folder... 1 darn folder that had the most recent crap for my VCU portfolio! I'm really good about having a backup always but this time I was like naaaa its just the memory, they wont need to do anything else.

So after getting over the SHOCK of them replacing pretty much EVERYTHING in my mac and FINALLY ONCE - - - - LUCKY ME! It didn't cost me anything WOO HOO! I'm still doing a little dance over that. I went home plugged it all in to find out, that apple copied over my entire harddrive to the new one. My folder was there safe and sound. (that was good I could finally stop kicking myself my brain was starting to hurt)

Thinking of investing in the 3 year apple extended care (something I usually never get because I think heck I would just rather put that money toward a new computer) however, it is ONLY 150.00 and after seeing the price tag of this one getting fixed, it may prove to be a VERY worth while investment.

@tyan: They do look huge! They were medium size to large and the one I found to hold was small only about as big as my head. - It was one of the only ones I could pick up in a hurry & hold it still long enough for the shot.

I am so happy it turned out all right. I think i will follow your advise and get a 3 year apple extended care.

@Rags: Yeah - I'm not much on getting EXTENDED warranty for things, it usually proves to be a worthless investment. Usually by the time something breaks or wears out - it would have been better to had kept the money toward a new one. However, this is a more expensive investment & 150 really won't put a dent in a new computer if I had to get one.

I've used Mac's for YEARS now at home & at work, NEVER have I had this kind of thing happen. After how they fixed my computer though, replacing everything with new hardware & transferred my stuff, I'm much more comfortable purchasing the extended warranty.

Apple is good that way...they think of things we sometimes overlook. They did all that for me when I upgraded from one comp to another. They said just bring it in when you buy the new one...and they did!

i think i havent really seen the pumpkins the size you mentioned,the ones i see are really small,like the size of adult palm..

to ans your question,bak kwa is usually sold year round,but it is like a chinese new year delicacy,so its mainly eaten during this season,so though it is on sale the whole year,its sales probably surges only during this period.People dont really eat it as a daily thing..:) you can read more here:)

@tyan: wow - really you have only seen tiny pumpkins! I remember my (um-ma) (korean mom) saying if you call someone a pumpkin head it is very mean. It must be because pumpkins over there do not grow like they do here.
Here a small pumpkin is bout the size of my head. A big pumpkin i would say is about the size of a small car tire. They get even bigger over here but average size I'd say is about double my head size.

Glad the Mac probs got sorted as well as they did . . that musta been a whole heap of worry.

How were you able to swing getting your computer fixed for nothing? That's fantastic! And the fact they saved your stuff! Even better yet. Good deal.

Another neat shot. I essentially have to use a "PC" at home 'cause that's what we have at work. To me, $985 represents TWO brand new computers. I'd like to have a MAC, but at those prices, I just can't see it. I don't know why they bothered with a repair in your case --they should have just transferred the info on your drive to a new computer since they essentially built a new one. Personally though, I wouldn't want someone working at a computer store to have access to my drive --too much personal info available, unless you're meticulous about encryption and security, or don't do business of any kind on your computer.
