Pit Fring Step 6

Posted by Rabbit (Richmond, United States) on 18 August 2008 in Art & Design.

Where is STEP 5???? well, I skipped it for you guys. Actually we will cover it tomorrow. I thought you would be as excited as me to see what was out of the tins. Step 5 would be more or less finishing the pieces. Which includes unwrapping the (meticulously wrapped copper wire) then washing the pieces in water. I have read that some people do not wash their pieces because this will take some of the colors off - however, it can also bring out OTHER colors you didn't know where there. Like the pale pink that is on my White pinhole camera.

So What is the Ironic part of these cameras? Any guesses? Well it would be the fact that they are opposite of each other. Like a negative and positive. It gave all my fellow potters a chuckle to see that these came out in such a way considering the whole weekend they were asking about the ceramics pinhole cameras I had with me. I took along a book of negatives and prints as well so they could see some of the results of my cameras.

It was a great surprise to see these cute and very opposite pots. The copper wire left white lines on the bottom of the darker gray pot. I did read that copper wire can leave white, black or even red lines. I was thinking how the heck can it leave white OR black lines. Now I see exactly what they meant.

Whats on the menu for today - A good run. Heck why not, I can't stand it but then who the heck does love it, except for those who run marathons *how on earth the get the inspiration for that is beyond my brain capacity* With the help of a friend, I have recently discovered places to go swimming in the Richmond area. There are even swim teams *who knows if I would be to old to join a swim team, but none-the-less its an idea to stay fit for FREE and to be involved with the community.* Right now its only an idea, because I'm a little shy about any kind of sport competition. Heck I'm shy about my art and I know i have way more confidence in that then i do about being on a team.
