In need of a good drink

Here is my fine collection of tumblers in my cabinet. They vary greatly one from another. It seems to be about every 2 years I make a new set of tumblers. Which is pretty neat, because It shows how my pottery has changed, and how I have improved.

Saturday night was quite a night. I had a friend invite me and my friend to go fishing. ALL NIGHT in a john boat. Yup I was pretty nervous over that idea but hey it seemed like an adventure I shouldn't pass up. So we agreed - met up on Sat at about 7 - since earlier there was a storm *and there was still 40% chance of another storm* not exactly the odds I like to be informed of when going out in a aluminum boat that sits on the water.None the less - went anyway, maybe it made it seem MORE adventurous.

We had one close call from another boat - that nearly RAN US OVER! oh my goodness. They were going who the heck knows how fast and came whipping around the corner. They were so close they splashed us with water, we thought for sure as the mighty wave came from their speedy boat zooming by us that we were going to turn over. Luckily it just wobbled everyONE and everyTHING to one side.

So we sit in this metal pain in the butt - literally since it didn't seem you could get comfortable at all no matter what towel or life jacket you sat on. *note to self - bring some kind of cushion to sit on next time.* We sat in the dark with little lights attached to our heads - that from time to time we would turn on to look and see if we had a catch or get a snack out of our bags. During the sleepy hours of the night where you would only wake up to the pull of your fishing pole.

Laying there asleep, I wake to a (woosh - duuup *tiny splash*) Oh crap - i exclaim. Everyone else wakes - yeah you catch something? - No.... crap crap crap... I say. They ask - what then? I said I just lost the fishing pole. The owner of the poles says - What? How? - It took it right out of my hand - I say in response. Which fishing pole was it? I said -its one like that one - pointing over to one of same brands. Looking disappointing they say - its ok. Then my dear friend with a hair brain idea says as they start to reel in their line - I think I may have caught your pole. ***** No way, we all seem to exclaim. ***** They say - well I've got something here and its either that huge tree branch we caught earlier or the pole. We all patiently await looking toward the line that is being reeled in with the little spot lights that are on our heads. Eyes getting wide, we see something with a bit of shine to it & its long as the end of the fishing pole is coming up out of the water on the end of this line. HA - they exclaim - I told you I thought I caught it.

Happily I get my borrowed fishing pole back and we laugh bout it for the rest of our fishing trip.

We only ended up catching ONE catfish and ONE fishing pole. However, we had fun doing it.

Cheers to all the adventures we take,
rabbit
