Sneak peak at the panels

Posted by Rabbit (Richmond, United States) on 2 July 2008 in Art & Design.

Here is a sneak peak at some panels I made. I suppose they are panels, but i'm not really sure... Maybe they are just called tiles? Just looked up the word panel - gave me about 10 different descriptions of the word that i completely forgot it even meant. However, one of the definitions of the word panel: A flat, usually rectangular piece forming a raised, recessed, or framed part of the surface in which it is set.

So yes they are panels they are flat painted and recessed works of art that are a set. Not rectangular but hey its close to the definition.

As i was saying before i went off on the panel rant. Here they are waiting to go into the first firing. They will then have colored patina or glaze painted into the carved out areas. I think I will do black glaze in the carved out areas - for it looks very nice to have that kind of contrast with the satin finish of the terra-sig.

This is a set of 4 even tho you only can see 3 of them in the photo.

Well I'm nearly finished packing for the Rothbury Festival. I realized that I had to re-pack some things considering 50 degrees at night is going to be rather cold when you can't just go inside and turn on the heat. So I decided to bring more pants to wear & a couple of sleeved shirts.
