Caught is Caught

This is one of my first pinhole cameras I finished in my box making class. This is the class where we use Terra sigillata to color the outside of our pieces. Then you polish/burnish the painted piece as well as doing some sgraffito work can be done. This piece i painted purple & then sponged on a redish color. Then i carved out a spiderweb. After the first firing, you then fill in the area with a colored patania. The closest thing i can think of to the patania is it sorta looks like a matte finished glaze that gets left in the carved out areas of your piece.

I figured I would Introduce this weeks pinhole photo with the camera that took the photo. This camera is titled: Caught. I am going to post the view this camera captured tomorrow.

Today I am going to write up a project for class. Of course it has to do with pinhole cameras, however, i'm searching for a deeper meaning. I have 2 different ideas. One has to do with time (thats ALWAYS a good subject that everyone can relate to) The other idea ***** totally different, but I think we can still relate. It has to do with each camera being a character and what these characters like to "EAT" meaning what doe they each take photos of. For example, one camera could always take pictures of flowers, and maybe even a certain type of flower could be its favorite thing to eat. While one always takes pictures of cars. Then of course it could try to "EAT" other things but ya know maybe it really likes to just eat certain things, just like us.
