Working with circles to make squares

Posted by Rabbit (Richmond, United States) on 7 May 2008 in Art & Design.

So as i was saying yesterday - I made a square box out of a cylinder shape. This is what the clay looked like before i pinched the bottom into the little points. This was a flat piece of clay that i rolled out with a rolling pin. Then carefully angled the sides, applied slip (you can think of this a clay glue - its really just watered down clay similar to thick soup) and then more or less "glued" the two sides together.

In this picture you see my hand moving really fast, thats because i'm pressing and mending the side together.

Its a beautiful day out today and I'm on my way to class in just a bit.

Trying to decide what to wear in 82 degree weather,
