This is a double walled bowl - i'm cutting out squares in the outer wall. I was working on this at home on my counter with a very colorful Christmas hand towel underneath my wearboard (a scrap board used to set your clay work on to dry out) anyway it had so much distracting color that i decided to just make this image black and white. It helps you focus on the square that has just been cut out.
Yesterday my dear friend Cabbagehead showed me an image she would like to submit to threadless t-shirts called Polly No Wanna.... Its a parrot who does NOT want any crackers. Shes not sure about the wording because some of her friends told her it sounded racist!!! What is this? jeeez my Cabbagehead no way this girl is that way i mean shes biracial for cryin out loud.
Today i have a sore throat, i'm drinking lots of tea (jeez whats new) to help it get better!
tea for me, rabbit

Heck NO that is funny ! (the T shirt ) People are too uptight , I would not think the cracker on that shirt is being racist and since that is a derogatory term for a white person it would be ok anyway LOL ;o)
So whats the deal with the whole in the wall of the bowl ?

you know in chinese medicine,tea is bad for sore throats because it is believed that it will cause your throats to dry even further..maybe try honey lemon or water?:)

I went to Threadless and found a funny parrot saying keep those crackers out of my view or something like that. How could this be racist or is "Polly no wanna" racist? Oh now I see... We had a comics book here in the fifties with a white boy and his balck friend. The black friend spoke in broken language, sounded childish and the white boy took all the initiatives. Nobody thought of racism and the comics were very popular. Nowadays they still exist (they must be over sixty now but are still around 12) but changed their behavior completely, I could tell more stories, e.g. we have a well-known brand of cookies covered with chocolate, named: "Negroe Kisses". Last year they had to change their name into "kisses", we still have another cookies brand called "Jews' Cookies", I'm curious when they have to change their name. BTW nice picture, the shape of your hand matches the shape of the hole, good luck! (Did you try Rooibos already?)

Well Rabbit, -You're so square, but baby i don't care- (Joni Mitchell) How many holes does the bowl get? The B&W workes out well. Gives good attention to your hand and leads my view to the hole.

@lightwriter: MANY!
I checked the work she did on the shirt. I don't find the shirt racist. I also can see why some would see it as that. As far as I am concerned, it is art and art sometimes needs to ruffle feathers. I hope she has the shirt made, it could create a decent dialog on race.

I like how you talk of ‘double-walled bowls’ as if we are all familiar with the genre . . but we catch on fast and are eager for the finished results, now! Love this surgical action shot!
