This is also another ONE of my FAVORITE pieces i saw while attending NCECA this year. This is a naked raku fired piece and no its not called naked raku because the subject happens to be naked. Naked raku is a type of raku process "The fracturing action of the slip/glaze layer when penetrated by smoke leaves a soft crackle finish stained into the pot's surface which is striking yet subtle in comparison to crackle raku glaze." I have recently learned that there are MANY different types of raku.
Today looks so pretty outside i wish i had time to take a pinhole shot, but instead today i must go to the store when i get a break from work and pick up odd and ends - such as :a flat ended extension cord (since someone was SO brilliant to put a outlet beside the fridge where a normal extension cord will not go without breaking *yeah had to learn that the hard way* Then i also need some short self tapping screws, some hangers, hooks, foam insulator weather stripping for my screen door because it makes a loud **WHAP** when ever you walk out and dont hold it from slamming into the door frame. Oh and a new dust pan.

Lovely sculpture!

This is an impressive piece of sculpture. The glazing makes it look like the size of the cracks is out of proportion with the size of the figurine. Different in a clever sort of a way.

This is, indeed, a wonderful piece and the carbon traces in that glaze have followed curiously regionalized paths considering the random nature of the process.

Wonderful series. Love the information, and the shots are all well done. Looks you've had a grand time, thanks for sharing.

This is pure sensuality. The tattoos are stunning. The cut off arms and head make it very vorunable. Only the defenceless body remains. It's a wannahave piece.

I am no ceramics specialist, but I love the result of this technique. Have a nice day Rabbit!

wow, sounds like it was a complicated process to make those lines.Honestly i thought how people will take a real lady who has such 'veins' all over her bod, looks quite scary! But from arty point of view,i think its a really well done piece, its like everything is at its right place:)

Now you told the story the naked raku nude becomes even more fascinating! I enjoy your writings very much too Rabbit, they tell so much about what you feel and how you cope with everything, it's the simple things that make it literature and creative. It's from the tips of your toes.
