Lamb Chopped

So this piece made by Dryden Wells was so cute it gets it OWN spot for all the viewing eyes. This was from the Orton cone box show. Now i know i'm talking to all my photo buddies and not my ceramic buddies... a cone is a way of measuring temperature in a kiln. Cones measure the amount of heat absorbed. Anyway these cones come in a little box - the Orton cone box measures 3" x 3" x 6" and the artwork must fit within these measurements.

So imagine this piece is only about 2 1/2 inches wide... it was so cute. I LOVED it. I didn't try and put the pieces together but i bet if you did it would stand up on its own which i think is WAY COOL.

Later Today is ceramics class! I'm excited because i get to use some of the tools i purchased at NCECA!

Thanks for sharing insights! I enjoy your blog and look forward to seeing more of your work and thoughts! I am glad you enjoyed NCECA 2008 and were able to capture some of it! Your pinhole cameras as an extention of ceramics is fascinating! HAve also enjoyed as well your poetry and introspective thoughts and interactions of your work in this blog!

@TheRedhead: Awww - thank you so much. When i first started this blog i was not sure how much it would become a part of me. How i would enjoy sharing myself as an artist what i do and how i felt about my work.

Nice piece of work, at first I had Christian thoughts coming up when seeing it but afterwards I had to remove them which was quite hard. Now that I write my comment they didn't disappear totally because I wrote about them, if I didn't think of it, I couldn't write about them, anyway, apart from all this, a beautiful concept!

@Illuci: Hey, thats awesome. I didn't even think of that. OOOOoooooo I mean i suppose the interpretation may not be awesome, however i've been told ART that makes you THINK or like/dislike is the BEST art. Otherwise you don't remember it later and that has no effect at all. Art that evokes and emotion IS art ;)

Funny idea, and I am not surprised that someone from Lubbbock did this. After all what is there to do up there except think up wacky entertaining ideas for pottery?

Hi Rabbit! This for me is a new meaning of lambchops.
It is adorable indeed. The black glazed or painted sides are very powerfull too.
