Distored Dime

So have you ever stopped to think who designed our money? As a graphic designer i occasionally find myself wondering who gets that job. Then i look at the money - especially American money and think jeez theres alot going on with the layout of that. I think our coins are better laid out, but there is still a lot going on.

So this picture is a bit more distorted than my other Dime Study. The camera that took this was titled: Show Me That Smile Again.This one was exposed for 45 seconds and was set at the same distance away as my other camera. The image on this one is a little bit fuzzier, that tells me that my pinhole is not the optimum size for the focal distance. HOWEVER, this pinhole was made bigger on purpose to shorten the exposure time. It used to take nearly 3 times as long to expose the film.

Couldn't see the Lunar Eclipse last night because it was cloudy and raining :(

Thats ok.

It did end up snowing a bit & that was nice,

Pinhole closeups! It works much better than I would have expected. Good placement of the coin in the frame too.

Truly fantastic pinhole capture once again, dear lady. I do love and miss your work. We missed catching the eclipse last night too as it was too cloudy where we were. :( Hope we can try again in 2010. :)

Nevertheless a very interesting piece of graphics. Isn't the DOF affected too when you make the "lens" opening bigger? In regular cameras it holds that the higher the focus number, the smaller the lens opening, and the longer the Depth of Focus will be. You need also longer exposure times. According to me, the same holds for pinhole cameras.
