Feeling Hopeful for the New Year

Greetings and Happy New Year everyone! Cheers! As i raise a shot glass toward you for the new year. May you have good health and many laughs.

I nearly crapped myself *only as an expression* when some nearby fireworks went off in the Celebration of the New Year. I was just sitting here typing and i thought for sure some redneck fired a gun toward the sky & that i was going to have to find a hiding place as i was imagining the bullet come back down.

However it was just fireworks i went out the door to admire them but the trees were too high for me to really see them & it caught me off guard how dag-on cold it was... i mean 4Jeepers... ha ha that was a license plate tag i recently seen.

Wondering if there is going to be more fireworks,

Happy New Year!! I got some same experience as you had, I was unloading the luggage from the car, a 3-year old kid and his mother were standing next to it, my dog was in the back of the car. It was in a narrow street in Leeuwarden, and about 30 meters from us a kind of bomb exploded, the window panes almost got broken. I yelled to the guy who threw the "bomb" that he was a-social, the kid cried with his hands on his ears and the dog trembled over his whole body. The guy cried back that if I wanted a fight I had to come closer, and that he also had a dog. My wife pushed me back into the car (we had delivered the young woman and her child at their home adress) and said "let's go!" The guy threw another bomb to show he didn't give a dam about what I said. Anyway I had the satisfaction that at least I said something and didn't ignore it. If we get upset about such a thing, how must people in Bagdad feel...
