tools of the trade

In this picture we have a spring box that i just finished putting the bottom on. You can see there are different tools i use to do some of my ceramics.

I'm a bit tired, went and danced for a bit last night. Not long just long enough to say i cut a rug but didn't shread it as i usually do. I just had me a water & hung out for a bit, saw some cute costumes. I was dressed as i suppose sorta a ganster look. I was thinking drag king when i came up with it. i drew a little mustasche and had a sweet fadora(sp) hat. With a pinstriped shirt and a pink tie.

Well, i'm off to bed now,

Your spring boxes are not turned on a wheel correct ?

I remember making two things in high school .... one was were we cut out I guess you could call them circles of clay and attached then to each other and made a vase and the second was where we rolled out clay snakes as long as we liked and stacked them on top of a base and then after we got the height and shape we wanted, we smoothed the rings out and then made a lid for our container ..... I gave them both to my mother and they sit on her hutch to this day 20 years later .... I will snap a few shots of them when I am in Baltimore again and share my little creativity I had back in the day with ya ..... I know... I know you probably can't contain yourself right now .....lmao ;)

There were a lot of Drag Kings this year. Patty and Sarah were both dudes... I suppose I was in Drag also... because I was "girly". Ha!!! Did anyone call you Ivan? They should have. Our costumes were a hit of course. The Cactus is having their Halloween bash this Wednesday night. Bah. I got work in the morning, I can't go. Bah hum bug.

I'm a Graphic Designer at least thats my DAY JOB
Then at night when i go home... i do what i really want to do CERAMICS.
I take a ceramics class about 2 times a year for new ideas and techniques.

I REALLY want to be a Ceramics Professor, however i've got to go to Grad School for that. I already have a Ceramics degree but you need MORE to teach college, besides i really would like more studies in the subject anyway.

Thanks for the display of your equipment and stuff you use on your ceramics or pottery (is there a preferred term?). Late to visit this post; that day (10/28) was Sunday and also my oldest daughter's birthday, so I didn't make the rounds much that day. As I am prone to say sometimes: "Better late than never..."
