Today at work was a lot better. I was able to get in do my thing, and then go. Which helped my brain out a lot. I then walked about the Old Towne of Petersburg with amo yes i had my pinhole ready to shoot!
The first spot i decided on was a pretty courthouse. I set my camera down and i notice a woman approaching my direction. I think well if shes in the photo - it will be even more interesting, b/c i know she will be ghostly. She comes even closer and closer until shes bout 15 feet away. The whole time shes getting closer shes giving me one hell of a look, as if i'm setting up a bomb. (To think bout how i looked doing this is pretty funny, i mean most people don't know what a pinhole camera is) Which is exactly what happened. Since she was giving me such a look i decided in-between my counting i'd tell her i'm taking a picture. She looks down at my pot and says "oh theres a camera in there?" i said "well actually THAT IS the Camera." I continue to tell her its a pinhole camera and realize well it might be a bit much to explain to someone who looks like they just want to be on their way. i more or less just explain it takes about a minute to take a picture... she says "oh ok..." in that i have no idea what your talking bout kind of way. I then cover the shutter and pick up my camera placing it in the brown bag i made.
It did get me thinking - and i have had this happen more than once as i'm taking a picture. That people do not understand or have NEVER seen or heard of a pinhole camera. Its hard to explain to them when it's loaded with film, since i can't just open it up and show them the pinhole. So i may take a series of pictures to show how i take pictures with it. i know if i never seen one and did not know much about photography how hard it would be to understand with out being able to actually see the pinhole & where you put the film, how the light comes in, bla bla bla...
Anyway todays shot has NOTHING To do with pinholes its a sake set named Protection. This has a set of 5 cups and their names are: Weather Storm, Three, Eurochild, Sly, and Spying Glass. This is in the Spot The Pot Shop if anyone needs a unique Sake Set ;). I will be more than happy to ship it international, but be prepared for it to be between $20 - $30 smackers for it. You just may have to save that up for something special ummm like um... a ceramic pinhole camera ;D
Going to develop my pictures, rabbit

Nice pottery, and I think it's best to have a couple of photos to explain your pinhole camera, or maybe just a cardboard box with parchment paper on one end and a pinhole on the other to show the principle. With all the paranoia around I guess that would make your tryouts safer...

Wow, dear lady, I’ve been looking through your photos this past week, and they have all been absolutely top quality as always, but I must say your ‘Pinhole Friday’ shots totally take the cake!! Really stunning, thoroughly unique. It’s really too bad that people such as the lady you mentioned don’t understand the first thing about pin-hole camera wonders. Oh well, never mind them. Your shot today is superb as always. Wonderful way you’ve arranged these beautifully matching colours, shapes and textures, and again, beautiful DOF here! I love it, dear Rabbit! :)

I love your stories, and your pots, and your photos!
I had made a pinhole camera in high school. It was from a cardboard box, a shoe box if my memory serves, gaffers tape and stuff like that, not wood and certainly not ceramics. I would think that ceramic pin hole cameras are a bit unconventional and of course wonderfully interesting.

Great story again Rabbit. I like the way you photo-ed the sake set as well; the background cruet and the several cups out of focus make for real eye-interest. You are such a many-talented Rabbit person. =)

excellent story Pinky. Remember when I went to DC to a museum and I pretty much got Body Searched for bringing my Zero Image Pinhole... Yah... good times.

Geez Rabbit I told you to stop wearing that TURBIN !!! Holy Makerel ...lol.... I know turbin remark not politically correct , but the good thing is I don't care ...lol .... great story though, I hope the woman and her scowl turns up in your photo ..... Love the shot here , the cups remind me of a wood turned bowl ..... I guess this would be shallow DOF here as well ?
