This is a super close-up of the glaze on my shot glass named Nubbin. I think it looks like i'm inside a cave with snow and ice.
What you are seeing is where i put a slip trailing of porcelin on JB Stoneware clay, then it was glazed in David's Blue which changes color dramtaclly from this light blue with deep dark blue patches to a golden brownish yellow kinda burnt honey sorta color, depending on how thick it is in some places.

You're right, it does feel like being in a cave with snow and ice! A beautiful "cave" though.. :-)

Woh.... great close up... should we call it cavey Nubbin? hee The blue-white patches looks like some natural limestone... very nice Thanks Prof Rabbit for the lesson! You make the process sound so amazing....:)

This looks like some sort of alien landscape. It is interesting how macro photography can turn familiar things into something strange and new.

I agree with you. This summer I went to Canada and saw a great glacier. Then I found such a snow and ice.
