Nameless Pinhole Camera

As for now this pin-hole camera i'm working on is name less. So this is me & i'm working on finishing up another pinhole camera, it took me a long time to finally decide on how to make the hole for the shutter (besides for the piece of metal i have to cut later) Anyway i was trying to think of different ways to cover up the shutter.

So this was my latest idea - to make a small hole and put sorta like a plug into it. I start off by making the hole, then taking really soft clay and rolling it between my fingers, then i place that in the hole and push down...

This is sooooo cool ..... I am going to sound stupid now , but you will be able to actually take a picture with this when you are finished ?

@RoBeRt: awww - that is not a stupid question... And the answer is YES! One will actually be able to take photos using my ceramic camera.

Have you ever used or know what a pin-hole camera is... if not take a look at this site this one is pretty good for showing how to make one out of an ordinary oatmeal container - all the photos on this site are taken using his oatmeal box. Oatmeal Box Pinhole The way the photos from the oatmeal box look should be similar to what the photos are going to look like out of the cameras i make b/c so far i've made round cameras- and when the negative is made the image is exposed onto a curved surface - giving it that WIDE ANGLE LOOK.

@Polly: sure - i have a picture posted on my about page although sometimes its a bugger to show up, i've noticed if i click the large or small tabs on the bottom left of the page it makes it show up tho... otherwise i'll try & dig u up a pic.

@Candace: Yeah - the oatmeal pin-hole cameras were one of the first things that sparked my interest towards making these, the second thing, Grad school. If i'm going to get in i need to make some kind of ceramic items that are a bit edgier, although i though a double spouted teapot would do the trick, but no. So that just means i have to work harder to get in <snapping fingers>.
