This was the first of my double spouted teapots that came about because i was trying to think of ideas that could possibly get me into grad school. So since i'm such a practical person its hard for me to venture out and make art sometimes for art sake. Even tho i love the idea, i mean i do want to be an art professor, so i embrace the idea of just making art to evoke a feeling. This teapot is named Share the Love because i think from the side the handles give it a heart kind of shape and also being double spouted one can share from either side.
When i first got this out of the cone 10 firing i couldn't get the lid off. So i stuck it in the freezer - and took it out several hours later and low and behold it popped right off. However due to the stress of the cold, it put a tear at each spout where the handle comes down. The lesson learned here... First, avoid having your lid stick. Second, if you do need to stick it in the freezer to get a lid off - i should think only a round object can go in without having any apendages that could streach & shrink to and away from itself without stressing the connecting parts. ~35

Awww... there's my favorite piece. Is it really only $35? I'm sold. I love to share the love. ;-)

Very nicely executed idea.

Maybe a bit over-exposed on the flowers on the back. But I like the idea :)

@Dross: Ahh - and actually thank you for pointing that out. I'm a bit overwhelmed in the beautiful photography world, as you may have read i am a potter but i am trying to incorporate the two. I have now taken note of the exposure in my most recent photo today as well as keeping an eye out for that in the future. As an extra bit of info i'm working on making pinhole cameras out of clay, eeeeeh how exciting. Again thank you for your comment.
Very nice narrative to go along with a nicely composed picture.

@[terrorkitten]: ahhh - i think for you it should be a double pinhole camera ;-) huh <pondering thought> that sounds like a good idea... i'll see how my first attempts at making a pinhole camera out of clay workout and then -this idea is next!
Sorry... but you struck my funny bone with your story. And there's certainly nothing funny about your pot getting cracked! Hopefully, my lid won't stick, and I rarely get the chance to pop off! ;-) However, you took me back to my youth working in a music store where I met my first girlfriend. They were very patient with everyone, and never minded her visits. But soon I'd hear the comment "dulcimer" as she'd walk through the door, not understanding what was meant. When our Christmas party came along, they'd wrapped us a large box containing a double neck dulcimer, and presented it with the tell of it's origin. If you're not familiar with them, they're an instrument of American Heritage designed for courting purpose. When first made, they'd sit on the legs between a courting couple. As long as the music played, the young ladies parents could sit inside without worry. Thanks for sharing your story, and trip down memory lane. You always give me a lift when I stop by taking a peek. :-)

@Dang: lol your poppin your lid off??? humm WHO does that mean your fussing at?!!! or need to fuss at since you dont' get the chance to "pop your lid off?" Loved the Story! Painted a very very mental image that was sweet & quite funny *especially the bit about the parents having to not worry if they hear the music ;) *
Heck, no one around to fuss at. But since I'm old, I like my neighbors to think I'm ornery. Only way I can shoot bugs outside without being asked what I'm doing, and why! An added bonus is cutting down on door to door salespeople. ;-)
